Audio Visual (AV) Technology in Manufacturing

Manufacturing brings its own challenges when you want to implement technology and AV is no exception. Manufacturing factories tend to be vast sites with a large workforce and a steady flow of visitors.

Depending on the site, you may have important visitors such as representatives from businesses where you want your product displayed. You need to be able to make an impression about your product through a presentation but also the quality of your operation. You need audio-visual equipment to do this.

IPTV

Do you want to be able to showcase the same message across multiple screens? IPTV allows you to do this by updating from your computer and push it out to one screen or multiple screens.

This is particularly useful to remind people about health and safety on the factory floor, especially for clean rooms. IP TVs can be useful in communal areas such as reception or the support office to highlight key information, show advertising, show relevant statistics or increase brand awareness of the business.

Wireless Presentation

Wireless Presentation applications allow you to share your presentations from any device for all compatible screens.

Some wireless presentation applications take it further by enabling you to use the application to display welcome screens with room scheduling, automate screens to turn on/off during working hours and schedule imagery and videos to play on loops.

Wireless Presentation applications can be used in Manufacturing to display health and safety information on certain screens and branding information on others, all depending on what department the IPTV screens are displayed. You can also benefit with meeting rooms, training room and boardrooms, especially for meeting room scheduling as well as presenting.

Interactive Screens and Whiteboards

Interactive screens are great for team collaboration projects and presentations. Imagine being able to pull everyone around a screen, draw a new concept, tweak it and save it really easily.

You can even get interactive screens and whiteboards which aren’t fixed, meaning you can move them around the office to wherever you want to collaborate.

It is likely that you’ll have support staff onsite and they might be collaborating on product image and concepts; interactive screens and whiteboards are perfect for this type of collaboration.

Public Address (PA System) / Tannoy Systems

A public address system, known as a PA or Tannoy system allows communication across multiple departments / buildings at one time by using audio technology such as microphones, speakers and amplifiers.

They are particularly useful for manufacturing factories that need to request an individual’s presence in another area because of the vast space and noise level, make it difficult to convey a message, quickly.

Speakers

Good quality speakers are essential when you want the audio to be heard, clearly. There are three main types of speakers; fixed bracket speakers, integrated ceiling speakers and freestanding speakers.

A manufacturing factory is a busy, noisy environment, should you have the need for speakers, the most viable option are fixed bracket speakers because they will be more powerful but not take up as much room as the freestanding speakers. For communal areas and reception, we would recommend integrated ceiling speakers.

Integrated Ceiling Speakers are ideal when you would like to create a pleasant ambience with background music.

Fixed Bracket Speakers are great when you are unable to use integrated ceiling speakers but still want a clear audio, however, they tend to be better placed in corners meaning you may audio quality gaps.

Video Conferencing Phones

Perhaps you are showcasing a new product to the marketing department to work on packaging concepts, or even to possible partners. A video conference enables you to effectively present without being in a room with them.

Seeing someone’s face and body language reinforces and strengthens relationships.

AV Cabling

Most audio-visual needs cabling and as most know, not any cable will do. You need to have the right cable to ensure the AV solutions performs at its best. Also, you want to be confident that your audio-visual equipment will work but without seeing unsightly cabling. Only experienced cabling engineers can do this for you (like us!)
