Are you looking for an experienced data cabling company who guarantee their work?

Networking cabling is essential for all businesses as cabling is how your technology functions as well as how efficient it performs. Cabling to routers, computers, servers, printers or even sophisticated machines such as hospital equipment; without it, your business would mostly cease to operate efficiently.

With that in mind, cabling is not the most exciting component of a project but it is certainly one of the most important. Contrary to popular belief; not any type of cable will do because each cable has its limitations and not every cable is suited for all technology.

Likewise, using too much or too little of the right cable means that you may need to get the cabling done again, which is a costly exercise.

Let us Keep your Business Connected.

Our Experience

Our team of Data, Voice and Security Engineers are proficient in all areas of cabling installation. Many of our team have been with the business for at least 5 years. They know what they are doing and are efficient in their work without dropping the quality; every cable they install is tested to ensure there isn’t any interference and in line with current standards and regulations.

Our team have experience of small and large-scale projects. Some of our larger projects include hospitals where MRI machines need to be installed so cabling work is required or cabling large distribution centres.

The majority of our projects tend to be in London, Midlands, South East and the North East but we have clients based in Devon, right up to Edinburgh so we can offer a truly nationwide cabling service.

To minimise the disruption to business operations we can even offer out-of-hours installation service.

In our 26 years we have had the pleasure of cabling:

  • Hospitals
  • Data centres
  • Schools, Colleges and Universities
  • Distribution Centres
  • Office buildings including listed buildings and shared offices
  • Event venues
  • Industrial centres

Our Guarantee

Most of the installations we carry out for companies have testing and certification of cabling systems included as standard, however, we will guarantee our workmanship for 12 months.

For any new systems we will provide a 10-year component warranty, in fact, some of our systems come with a 25-year component warranty which will protect you against any cabling or performance issues.

Our Data Cabling Solutions

Data Cabling Audit

The easiest and safest way to avoid any unplanned downtime is a thorough audit of your cabling infrastructure before a project commences. We visit your site to map your existing infrastructure, look at the cable’s performance to identify any weaknesses, ensure existing cabling infrastructure meets the required standards and plan for your desired outcomes including any growth plans. We will write up a detailed report from our survey and send it out to you, promptly so you can decide on how to proceed.

Ideal for those who want to upgrade their network, move office or set up a new site, any performance concerns or switching to an IP security system.

Data Cabling Consultation

Often, we are brought in on a consultative basis to help provide a specialist perspective on a project so that the best choice is made at planning stage. Occasionally, we are brought in on a consultative basis during a project installation when something hasn’t gone to plan and we can offer our experience in the best way forward to put the project back on track, hopefully without the project going over budget.

Ideal option for Project Managers, Architects, Facilities Managers, Maintenance Managers and IT Managers who get involved in project planning. We can be involved in single site or multiple site solutions.

Data Cabling Planning

We can produce tailor-made cabling plans where we ensure they encompass your growth plans, existing cabling infrastructure, integration with new hardware or systems and meet all health and safety requirements.

Ideal for Facilities Managers and IT Managers who need plans to be drawn up for a project or for site records.

Data Cabling Installation

We have been installing cabling systems for over 26 years. We have a team of Fully-Qualified Data, Voice and Security Engineers who are experienced in cabling established sites as well as brand new sites. We only use proven equipment from leading manufactures with guarantees from 15 to 26 years.

Ideal option
for small to large-scale projects, from installing a few cables to thousands

Data Cabling Upgrade

We can work with existing infrastructure to seamlessly, upgrade your network in line with your growth plans or we can replace obsolete cables.

Ideal for those businesses with cables that are showing wear, cables that don’t meet the performance required for new technologies or if they have recently expanded their operations.

Data Cabling Testing

When we are involved in any project, small or large, we ensure testing is carried out on every cable we install to ensure they meet the highest standards. Should you request them, we can provide the Fluke testing results for your records.

Sub-contracting

Skilled Engineers are highly sought after and we are lucky enough to have a team of them who have been with us for a number of years. We invest in their training, year after year to ensure they are kept up to speed with the latest technologies. Additionally, we have a proven system of checks in place to ensure quality control. For those reasons, we have been asked on a number of occasions to subcontract because our cabling work is to an impeccably high standard.

Additionally, due to the amount of cabling we do each year, we have a high level of buying power; more than some well-known distributors which means we can be quite competitive in supply prices

We are consistently recognised by our customers as:

  • Keeping to budget and schedules
  • Providing helpful advice to assist with project plans
  • Being available outside of traditional office hours for installations
  • Keeping disruption to a minimum
  • The quality and efficiency of our work

Types of Cables and their Application

There are over 20 different types of cables in circulation today with their different uses but some of them have been superseded by another version. Below are the most common network cables used in today’s business network solutions.

+ - Category 5

Cat5 has 8 wires and provides a performance of up to 10/100MB which makes it suitable for Ethernet, telephony and video. This has since been superseded by Cat5e but in some cases, it still has its place.

Maximum length to be used: 100m, however, cat5 is vulnerable to external interferences so shorter lengths are recommended.

Application: Small office, home office, schools

+ - Category 5e

Cat5e is an improvement on Cat5, it supports 1000MB and has a reduced amount of interference compared to Cat5.

Maximum length to be used: 100m

Application: Small office, home office, schools

+ - Category 6

Cat6 is a twisted pair cable but is compatible with cat5, cat5e and cat3 cables. The performance of Cat6 is up to 250MHz and can handle up to 10GB of data. Cat6 is more resilient to external interference.

Maximum length to be used: 55m, beyond that and your bandwidth will rapidly deteriorate.

Application: Large businesses, universities

+ - Category 6a

Cat6a is an improvement on cat6 as it has an increase in performance; up to 500MHz and supports 10GB.

Maximum length to be used: 100m

Application: Large businesses, universities

+ - Category 7

The Cat7 has four twisted copper wire pairs and has a performance of up to 600Mbps and support up to 10GB. Cat7 isn’t as flexible and practicable as other networking cabling solutions as well as being the most expensive so even now, Cat6a is used as the reasonable alternative.

Maximum length to be used: 100m

Application: Data centres and where high speed and bandwidth is required

+ - Category 7a

Cat7a has a performance of up to 1000MHz and support up to 10GB. Cat7a is well shielded which means a huge noise immunity.

Maximum length to be used: 100m

Application: Data centres and where high speed and bandwidth is required

Fibre Optic Data Cabling

Fibre optic is similar to an electrical cable but contains optical fibres that are used to transmit data at the speed of light.

They are very strong however they are not flawless as they are susceptible to microscopic surface flaws which can occur in the manufacturing process, time, stress when handling at installation and some environmental factors.

Fibre optic installations are suitable to projects where fast, high bandwidth, data transfer is required over large distances.
