Your business security should make it difficult for opportunists to access as much of your site as possible, putting every obstacle in their way so they deem it too risky to attempt a break-in. Your security barriers are often the first line of defence.
We have been supplying and installing commercial security barriers for nearly 10 years. We work closely within the manufacturing, distribution, healthcare and leisure industry.
We can automate your security barriers whilst integrating them with other security measures such as CCTV, Access control and with security fencing we can integrate it with your intruder alarm.
Commercial Security Barriers
There are different types of Security Barriers, most of which can be automated or integrated with other security technology like access control, CCTV, and intruder alarms to add another layer to your business security.
Drop Arm Barrier
A Drop arm barrier is typically found at entrances to businesses in industrial estates, car parks, hotels and event venues. The barrier arm is down until access is granted and then it is automatically raised.
Drop arm barriers can be automated for all approaching vehicles or it can stay down until identity is confirmed either manually confirming, access control passes / pin code being entered or even integrated for a CCTV camera with ANPR on it to permit entrance.
Turnstiles are great for controlling employee and visitor access. Turnstiles stop people “tailgating” behind others as they only let one person in at a time, through which stops any unauthorised entry. They can be integrated with access control like an access pass or fob to speed up the flow of traffic.
There are different styles of turnstiles, some that are half height or full height. Half height turnstiles tend to be in businesses that have a reception area where staff regularly enter for work and full-height tend to be more common on construction sites and in manufacturing and distribution centres.
Bollards are useful for traffic management, pedestrian safety and preventing accidental and intentional damage to a business’s building. The best bollards are constructed from stainless steel for long lasting protection against harsh impacts, even from multiple crashes.
There are a variety of different types from collapsible, fixed and temporary bollards yet they all offer protection from low- and high-speed crashes. They are ideal for shopping centres, car parks, industrial parks and schools.
Palisade fencing is a simple solution to protect the boundaries of your site whilst maintaining a view of whether someone is attempting to breach it. Palisade fencing is also easy to maintain and extremely durable.
Palisade fencing acts naturally as a deterrent because of the height, lack of footholds to climb and the points at the top. It can easily be integrated with an intruder alarm and line beam technology to layer your security so you are instantly notified if someone breaches your permitter. It’s ideal for businesses on industrial parks, commercial sites, distribution centres, schools and warehouses.
Pick the right Security Barrier for your Business
The security barriers you need will depend on different factors such as; the size of your site, how much space you have, activity level as well as any considerations for regulations and further security integrations.
Size and Space
How much space do you have? Is it a walkway or a drive-through entrance? You need to think about how a barrier will be fitted. Will it need to be supported by a wall? Will it make the entrance, narrower because of the fittings?
The area that you want to place a security barrier, will there be a high level of traffic? Will you need extra security measures in place for people to be identified?
The level of activity will dictate the type of security barrier you get and any associated security measures. It defeats the object of having a security barrier if you are going to leave it open when it is busy.
Security barriers compliment other security solutions such as Intruder alarms, Access control and CCTV which ensures your business remains as secure as it can possibly be. Integrating more security solutions adds extra layers of security.
Use IP CCTV to prove who entered your building, when and what occurred should the worst happen.
IP CCTV converts the footage into data, which is then transmitted to a location of your choosing.
All businesses whether small medium or large have assets, staff and property that need to be protected.
Access control reduces the risk of opportunists by controlling people's access to certain areas.
An Intruder Alarm is there to detect any unauthorised attempts at entry into your business.
What would the potential monetary loss be if someone got inside? What impact would that have on your business?
