Group Ringing
What is Group Ringing?
Group Ringing (sometimes referred to a Ring Group) is a phone system feature. It means that when a phone number is called, the phone number rings on everyone within that group’s phone so that someone can answer the phone. It is a great way for the business to share out incoming calls amongst the group as well as reducing hold times and minimise call abandonment.
It is a common phone system feature which can be utilised in every business but it works particularly well in Customer Service Departments and Sales Departments.
Most businesses take it further by incorporating a Hunt Group (see Hunt Group) where the phone system will find a free extension number within the group to take the call.
