Businesses should not take any risks when it comes to security, whatever level of protection you are looking for it is important that you know who is coming in and out of your building. Being able to prove who was where and at what time can be absolutely vital for legal reasons and should the worst happen, CCTV evidence could prove more useful than anything else.
There are various types of CCTV systems that can be installed, with the two main choices being IP and Analogue. At BTT we have a vast array of experience within this field, so you can be sure you are in safe hands should you choose us.
Let’s take a look at the different options:
IP CCTV cameras are instantly recognisable nowadays, in fact, they are such a common factor of day to day life that we barely notice them at all. Now that the technology that goes hand in hand with this type of camera has advanced, IP cameras are an obvious choice for business owners.
So how does it work?
IP CCTV cameras will convert video footage and images that they capture into data, which is then transmitted to either a central PC held within the office, or to any location of your choosing, anywhere in the world. The digital technology used offers benefits such as greater flexibility and high quality images, making them a cost-effective solution. As with all our favourite pieces of tech here at BTT, IP CCTV is future proof!
What makes this a good option?
The fact that you can have the video and images stored remotely adds an extra layer of security to this system. Among the products that we offer at BTT, you will find the Avigilion Control Centre software. Hand in hand with IP CCTV, this control centre features High-Definition Stream Management which means you are in control of your security at all times.
The universal standard installation, Analogue has been around for a long time and is the other main option for companies looking to setup CCTV security within their company.
How does it work?
Analogues CCTV systems involve recording to tape, so you will need to make sure that these are changed daily and filed away securely in case they are needed at a later date. Whilst analogue systems tend to be cheaper to install than the IP cameras, the use of tape adds an extra cost.
What are the benefits?
The cameras that are used with analogue systems can be very discreet should you choose and this makes them an ideal selection for locations such as shops and restaurants, both indoors or outdoors. At BTT we can provide a highly flexible, versatile and affordable analogue system should you choose to take this path.
Why should I Invest in a CCTV system?
Nowadays it is possible to pick up DIY CCTV cameras very cheaply from wholesalers. We’ve had a number of customers come to us having used these cheaper alternatives and they are only lasting for around 18 months. We have a customer who had a BTT system installed 10 years ago, their cameras are still going strong. Whilst these wholesale DIY options are cheaper, they aren’t as robust so you are likely to be replacing them often, meaning it will work out a whole lot more expensive over time.
CCTV security hosts a whole range of benefits and as mentioned previously, one of the top reasons is accountability. Although we would hate to ever think that staff may steal from stock, or that our office may be broken into, these are things that we have to bear in mind as business owners. CCTV imagery will add that extra level of security so you can rest assured should something go wrong, any culprits can be bought to justice.
Not only does CCTV come into play in regards to the above, it can also be useful when it comes to Health and Safety regulations. We have worked with a number of food manufacturing businesses and hospitals where health and safety regulations are very tight. You are able to ensure that all staff members are meeting the required guidelines, keeping your firm on track with all the legislation.
